From Heilig en Profaan 1, p. 143:

In Blomberg, Germany, in1460 a woman condemned as a witch was burned alive after confessing under torture that she had stolen 45 consecrated wafers from the local parish church. By having the Host in her house, she had hoped for marital happiness , but became panic-stricken and threw them down a well. After her execution a chapel was built over the well in order to negate the effects of the desecration of the Holy Sacrament, and very soon numerous miracles occurred, making Blomberg a popular pilgrimage site. The cult was severely criticized on theological grounds, as were 'signa plumbea', lead insignias, sold at Blomberg on which the detested desecration of the Host was depicted.
